Ten years ago, on June 2001, in Genoa at San Giorgio Palace, the women network (who at that time joined the World March of Women) started the agenda of political events and rallies of Genoa Social Forum with an international meeting titled Punto G: gender and globalization – For an equal, democratic, fair, supporting and peaceful society of women and men, that ended with a demonstration in the centre of the city.

This webzine (founded in 1995) wants to spread news and information about women's policies. The association Il Paese delle Donne was founded in 1987, is based at the Casa Internazionale delle Donne in Rome and promotes women's policies by running a publishing house, their webzine and an archive, organizing seminars, workshops, conferences, exhibitions, networking activities etc. Since 1987 they also have been publishing the Foglio del paese delle donne (print)

Anne Bitsch, born in 1978, currently lives in Oslo, Norway, where she is currently working as a programme adviser for Forum for Women and Development (FOKUS), is engaged as the theme coordinator in the Norwegian Amnesty International Campaign ‘Stopp vold mot kvinner’ (‘Stop violence towards women’) as well as writing on a free lance basis for various media such as Aftenposten, the weekly news magazine Ny Tid, the Norwegian feminist magazine Fett, Aftenposten. Since recently, she is also writing column for Dagsavisen.
