Statement:
This is a group for people who often find the protrayal of women in the media one-sided, sexist, appearance obsessed and skewed. It's here to promote discussion of body image and how the media affects it. It began by kicking against one or two aspects of the media using stickers, but it's got to be a bit more. Our current project is trying to create a video/magazine style book/website/all of the above that breaks down media myths and pressures, aimed at young women/people. These will make use of people's experiences of and interactions with the media, and try to explore and explain why the portrayal of women and bodies is often so weird.
