n.paradoxa (Journal, E-Zine (1996-2010), Database)

type=digital_archives

n.paradoxa began as an online journal in December 1996 (ISSN:1462-0426). The online version continued simultaneously with the print journal for more than 10 years with entirely separate content from the print journal. In the archive section you can read the 21 issues that were published online between 1996-2010.

The print journal was founded in 1998. n.paradoxa publishes scholarly and critical articles highlighting feminist art and feminist art theory written by women critics, art historians and artists on and in relation to the work of contemporary women artists post-1970 (visual arts only) working anywhere in the world.

Each thematic volume in print contains artists and authors from up to 10 countries in the world and explores their work in relation to feminist theory and feminist art practices.

n.paradoxa is published bi-annually (January and July) in print as volume numbers (ISSN: 1461-0424). KT press is the publisher of n.paradoxa and operates as a not-for-profit publishing company whose aim is to promote understanding of women artists and their work.

Since its relaunch in 2011 the website of n.paradoxa besides providing access to all online issues also functions as a portal and database about women artists, the women's art movement, and feminist art. New search facilities enable users to search 1,000 bibliographic entries to books, anthologies, exhibition catalogues, websites and magazines (including special issues) on feminist art. Searches are available by title, date, country, author.
