"Ladyfest Melbourne 2009 is a music and arts festival designed to showcase the creative talents of Melbourne ladies along with interstate and international special guests. 2009's festival will have a particular focus on representing independent lesbian and queer female bands and artists who are making and performing original works.
This year's festival is brought to you by a team of ladies from varying artistic and organizational fields (a combination of DIY grass roots and professional arts practitioners) who will be contributing their ideas, experience and enthusiasm to deliver a diverse and cutting edge festival program.
The staging of Ladyfest Melbourne 2009 has been made possible through funding provided by Linc, with a program of events encompassing: two girl rock marathons, live electro bands, art exhibition, workshops, forums, as well as opening and closing night parties."
